SPEAK THAT I LISTEN TO YOU: OUR COUNTRY OF ADVICE!
speaks
Sometimes we want to ask something to someone and we do not know who to ask, right? So we decided to start a column of advice in Capitolina Magazine! You can ask what you want about relationships and sex here. Your identity will not be revealed and your secret is safe between us! We just can not answer health questions - these should be for professionals in the area. The column will be published the first week of each month.
"How can I overthrow the idea of romantic love in my mind?" When I was 13, I spent my weekends watching romantic comedies and today I have a lot of trouble to relate to because of that. I always feel inferior because I'm not like those actresses, or I claim things are not like the movies. Overall, I end up dreaming of a perfect story and not letting anyone actually get into my life and leave my coolest days. Even if I'm in love with the person. This has only brought me sadness and a lot of lack of confidence in myself.
ANSWER:
Hi darling! All right? I think many of us are influenced by the romantic comedies we see, but these films are not realistic demonstrations of our society and how we relate. We live much more complex stories than fictional characters. We may not be able to find the great love of our lives bumping into him on the street, but in the end, it is us who have the capacity to leave our coolest days through the decisions we make. If we know or we will meet someone to complement our lives is beyond our control and need not be a decisive factor for our happiness.
Bia Quadros wrote a bit more about this some time ago in this text here.
We look forward to hearing from you in the coming months!
